This open level solo jazz workshop will build on a flexible combination of steps to challenge all levels. Nika will introduce vernacular jazz vocabulary then dig in with rhythmic variations and challenges for folks looking to improve their improvisation and/or performance skills. We'll also chat about what it means to support each other when we are dancing, performing and sharing this artform in community. Suitable for everyone from enthusiastic beginners to experienced vernacular jazz dancers.

"Solo jazz" or "vernacular jazz," are umbrella terms referring to the wide range of non-partnered movements and steps danced and performed to swing music from the 1920s-1940s.
