Collegiate Shag Workshop. Saturday, April 8th, 3:00 pm - 5:45 pm
Collegiate Shag is another high energy partner dance from the family of swing dances that spread from the Carolinas across the Country during the 1930s. We are thankful that our friends from Corvallis Swing Dance Society will be sharing a workshop with us on this dynamic dance style.
There will be 2 workshops, each 1hr and 15 minutes long.
Workshop #1: (3 pm - 4:15 pm) Intro to Collegiate Shag: Learn the basic Shag footwork, connection, transitions between open and closed positions, as well as some fun moves.
Workshop #2: (4:30 pm - 5:45 pm) Continuing Collegiate Shag: Expand your Shag knowledge with new footwork stylings, movements in side-by-side position, breaks and more!
Venue is the Upstairs Dance Studio in the Veteran's Memorial Building
